Free voyage analysis

Voyage Calculator & Scenario Analyzer

Calculate the operational, economic, environmental performance and port schedules of a planned vessel voyage.

Enter one vessel and an ordered sequence of cargoes. Marine Solver will evaluate the complete voyage chain, timeline, and economics from the vessel’s open position through every loading and discharging port to an optional exit point.

A free confirmed Marine Solver account is required to open the workspace. No paid Solver subscription is required.

What the voyage calculator includes

Evaluate a user-defined voyage scenario without running an optimization model or changing the selected cargo sequence.

Voyage costs and profit

Calculate freight income, fuel costs, port expenses, canal dues, operational costs and total voyage profitability.

Operational performance

Review total distance, ballast and laden legs, sailing time, waiting time, port operations and complete voyage duration.

Voyage schedule & timeline

Generate a detailed voyage itinerary with estimated arrival, waiting, berth operations, canal transits, and departure dates for every port leg.

Emissions and EU ETS

Estimate fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions, SECA exposure and the financial impact of the EU Emissions Trading System.

CII performance

Forecast voyage contribution to the vessel’s Carbon Intensity Indicator and assess the expected CII rating.

FuelEU Maritime

Evaluate voyage-level FuelEU Maritime intensity, compliance balance and the effect of the selected fuel profile.

What-if analysis

Recalculate the same voyage under alternative fuel prices, ETS assumptions, operational settings and environmental parameters.

1

Enter the vessel

Add vessel particulars, open position, speeds, fuel consumption, operational costs and environmental parameters.

2

Define the cargo sequence

Add one or more cargoes in the exact order in which they will be loaded, transported and discharged.

3

Analyze the complete voyage

Receive economic, operational and environmental metrics, route visualizations, port operational timelines, reports and what-if analysis.

More than a standard voyage cost calculator

A conventional voyage calculator usually estimates distance, bunker consumption and basic voyage expenses. Marine Solver’s Voyage Scenario Analyzer evaluates the entire planned voyage chain, including ballast positioning, successive cargoes, port operations, waiting time, canal routes, environmental exposure and regulatory performance.

The Analyzer does not select or optimize the cargo sequence. The sequence entered by the user is treated as the planned voyage. This makes it possible to assess a commercial scenario before execution while preserving complete control over the intended route and cargo order.

The same analytical framework used by the Marine Solver optimization platform is applied to the user-defined voyage, providing consistent economic, operational and ecological intelligence.

Voyage Scenario Analyzer questions

Is this a voyage cost calculator?

Yes. It calculates voyage costs, but also includes freight income, profit, operational time, fuel consumption, emissions, EU ETS, CII and FuelEU Maritime metrics.

Does the Analyzer generate a detailed vessel schedule?

Yes. It calculates estimated arrival and departure dates, waiting time, port operations and canal transit time across every leg of the planned voyage.

Can I analyze several cargoes in one voyage?

Yes. Cargoes are analyzed in the order displayed in the cargo table. Each cargo is loaded and discharged before the following cargo begins.

Does the Analyzer optimize the voyage?

No. It analyzes the voyage sequence selected by the user. The full Marine Solver platform can additionally search for and identify an optimal vessel and cargo sequence.

Does it include CII and FuelEU Maritime calculations?

Yes. The environmental layer includes CO₂ emissions, EU ETS exposure, CII performance and FuelEU Maritime voyage metrics.
